The Six Lesbian Romance Books I Want to Be Buried With.
by JLNicky

I just wanted to blog a little morbid humor. Someone once told me it’s how I handle stress. I’m not dying and don’t plan to for many years to come. I’m not even stressed, much. However, I was listening to a motivational speaker who mentioned relationships and how he tries to surround himself with people that will also be the six guys that will carry his casket. That got me thinking. I’m not going anywhere without my books.

Since my Kindle won’t have any power to recharge in that box/urn and while its plethora of books would probably make sure I don’t lose it in the underworld. I have decided to make some lists. This list is my six lesbian romance books that will be tucked into the side of my casket.

The Wrong McElroy
by KL Hughes

1.

Something to make me laugh. Hey, it’s my underworld. I can laugh if I want to. So, I’ll have to take something funny. Arguably I’m going to struggle to pick just one…but an entire list will not do. If I have to choose just one, it is going to have to be The Wrong McElroy by KL Hughes. No, noooo. Lucy Bexley’s No Strings or her Must Love Silence both made me hiccup with laughter. Umm, no, it’s The Wrong McElroy. Ohh, what about And Playing the Role of Herself by K.E.Lane? Remember Caidence Harris and her car Twila? OMG! What about Full Court Pressure by Lynn Galli? The female coach ends up coaching the men’s team and meeting Kesara the hotty executive assistant. Ugggg. This is an impossible task.

Partners
by Melissa Good

2.

Next selection is a thinking book. To keep my busy brain engaged in the ghost world, I’m going to need some hardcore thinking. Something that’s smart and sassy like Partners by Melissa Good. Granted it’s a sci-fi book but that is what makes it science-y and percolates the old brain. And ohh-my-my the plot and sex are wonderful. Cyber AI girl meets hotty pilot.

Tropical Storm
by Melissa Good

3.

I’m taking the best version of myself. My favorite character is hands down Dar from Tropical Storm by Melissa Good. She is both intriguing and delicious-sounding and the pairing of Dar and Kerry was almost painfully wonderful, in a romance that involves coming out and staying out. The series is beyond words great, and I’ve read the first book more than ten times. The only real competitor is probably Radclyffes Safe Harbor Reese Conlon, LtCol USMCR.

Starting From Scratch
by Georgia Beers

4.

I have to take a book that will remind me of you. I’m currently single (sigh) but that won’t last. I spend a lot of time thinking about you, whoever you are. The one I will marry. The one that will be my other half. To encapsulate your idea of you I think of Starting From Scratch by Georgia Beers. The main love interest is supportive and fun and endearing making this book my comfort and emotional romance.

Far From Home
by Lorelie Brown

5.

My favorite cover art should be something by Fiona Riley all that leg and rising skirt edge she has on her Unlikely Match or other covers from the Perfect Match series. Or Waiting in the Wings by Melissa Braydon, the way the dancer flings herself skyward. But I’m always captured over and over by the flowing red dress. Far From Home (Belladonna Ink Series, Book 1) by Lorelie Brown. The book was so perfect, touching on so many issues (eating disorders, LGBT marriage, cultural diversity, and biracial relationships) and the cover art drew my eye like no other book has yet. A solid giant thumbs up. A flowing red dress that speaks freedom and beauty in one fell swoop.

Fast Break
by Mickey Minner

6.

My theme book choice of sports or music is going to be another long struggle. I’ve constantly gone back to read Fast Break by Mickey Minner. The b-ball pace and gameplay are fantastic. But music is my heart and I’d have to say there are quite a few music books out there, see my Listopia list on Goodreads Lesbian Books with Music Themes. Fierce Overture by Gun Brooke or Listen by Kris Bryant are close contenders. Radclyffe has one as well in Love’s Melody Lost.
